The Brooklyn Arts Center at St. Andrews is excited to announce a fabulous, new, community event:
Edge of Urge and DREAMS of Wilmington present INDIE EXPO: Local Fashion, Art, Music and Design at the Brooklyn Arts Center
Fashion icon Edge of Urge and arts education leader DREAMS of Wilmington, a local nonprofit dedicated to building creative, committed citizens, one child at a time, through high-quality, free-of-charge programming in the literary, visual, and performing arts, along with 30 extraordinary fashion designers and pop-up shops, artists, and musicians, will fill the BAC with their gorgeous work and a sense of community.
Great food, the BAC cash bar, and live music will make INDIE EXPO a day to celebrate and discover fashion, art, and design in Brooklyn.
Admission to the public is $5. Proceeds benefit DREAM of Wilmington.

Battleship Association Annual Crew Reunion
Battleship Association Annual Crew Reunion held in Wilmington, NC allows those who used to serve as crew of the USS North Carolina a chance to share stories, visit old friends and make new ones. The crew has been a tremendous asset to the Battleship through the years. They have given thousands of artifacts, recorded oral histories, donated funds, helped found the Friends of the Battleship, volunteered countless hours, and served on the USS NORTH CAROLINA Battleship Commission. The Battleship staff is proud to preserve their ship and share their story. The Battleship would love to help crew members and their families reconnect with their Ship. FUNDRAISER: 19th Annual Greek Festival at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wilmington, NC, features the best of Greek culture, church tours, and heritage including food, music, dancing, a marketplace and cooking demonstrations. Exhibit: Toys and Games
Exhibit: Toys and Games showcases the Museum’s vast collection of historical playthings. The exhibit connects visitors to generations of local residents through their toys, which include a local girl’s favorite doll, cars and soldiers, alphabet blocks, construction sets, and a 1970s video game. Toys and Games is designed to be a highly interactive experience, and visitors are encouraged to dress up, play a historic board game, create buildings, and play with tops. La Cage Aux Folles
La Cage Aux Folles presented by the Thalian Association at historic Thalian Hall in downtown Wilmington, NC. After 20 years of un-wedded bliss, two gay men, Georges and Albin, receive a jolt when Georges’ son announces he’s engaged to the daughter of a bigoted politician. Making matters worse: Albin and Georges run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez, where Albin is the star performer. Georges reluctantly agrees to masquerade as hetero when he meets the family of the bride-to-be, but Albin has other plans. Both hilarious and heartfelt, this musical classic features a score by Jerry Herman, the composer of Hello, Dolly! and Mame. Directed by Tom Briggs. Purchase tickets online. Tennessee Williams and Barbecue: Theater of the American South
Tennessee Williams and Barbecue: Theater of the American South presented by UNCW’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Participants will travel by bus to Wilson, NC, for its annual festival of food, culture, and theater including a lecture about American playwright Tennessee Williams given by UNC professor Kimball King, a BBQ lunch with legendary pit master Ed Mitchell, and a matinee performance of A Streetcar Named Desire. 1st Crawl Environmental Festival
1st Crawl Environmental Festival is a first-of-a-kind great environmental festival at Middleton Park, Oak Island, featuring live entertainment, informative speakers on sea turtles, sea birds, marine rescue, along with kids games/rides, arts & crafts, food, and a individual and team Turtle Triathlon. It will highlight the good work being done in our community to save our natural marine and other resources. The Team Turtle Triathlon will start at 8am and the festivities at the park will begin at 10am.
